Community Climate Action Network SKILLSHARE

Event Details

Facing a Climate Emergency we cannot rely on politicians or business to sort it: We have potential to make change ourselves!

SCCAN invite you to a skillshare for community-led initiatives: co-creating, new strategies for a deeper, quicker transition to a Low Carbon, Resilient Biodiverse Scotland.

9:30 registration for 10am – 5pm Saturday 3 March

Rm 3.24, St Leonard’s Land Holyrood Rd

Please Book: https://sccan2mar.eventbrite.co.uk

The morning gathering provides an opportunity for Telling Our Stories… of innovation by skillful citizen groups using new strategies based on best practices globally! Using Open Space, we’ll identify effective models for rapid change-making that people want to hear more about. These will form the topics for small-group think-and-do workshops after lunch.

The event is for all those eager to take action – from seasoned campaigners and activists to those newly engaged in Extinction Rebellion and Earth Strike. Share skills and make new contacts and lasting friendships.

The afternoon will be capped off by Tine Clarke, Transition Trainer, sharing her experience of supporting grassroots initiative in the United States, Canada and Europe.

On Sunday Transition Scotland offer a fuller transition Network Training session where Tina will unpack a great bag of tools gathered over ten years for thriving Carbon Neutral Communities. Discount if attending both days.

You can offer/ request overnight accommodation when booking.

Participation fees: we are very keen that finance should not be a barrier to participation. Suggested fees* are on sliding scale with employed people paying £20, organisations £40 and concession £10

Discounts: organisations sending more than one person get the second and subsequent people at new lower rate. Anyone attending both days gets second day at new lower rate. Note: bring and share lunch!

We could invoice if this helps; or pay by BACS [Account details from info@scottishcommunitiescan.org.uk]
