PeaceBuilders works with Primary schools in Edinburgh to develop a culture of peace and listening: nurturing environments that embody values and practices to support intrinsic motivation, welcome and take care of conflict constructively, and work together cooperatively.

Our cooperative games workshops are run in Edinburgh Primary schools, and support the Curriculum for Excellence Health and Wellbeing outcomes by developing children’s skills in; understanding self and others, managing emotions, communication, and dealing with conflict.

PeaceBuilders are an in-development collaborative team who work to to embody our purpose & values in the work that we offer; to practice what we preach as much as we are able. Prospective trainee facilitators are requested to self assess your “fit” to our team before applying to the training. You will be sent a pack after
registering.

After completing the initial training you then undergo an 8 week volunteer placement in a school, one half day per week, and receive other training in practices that support purpose and values integration. Upon satisfactory completion of full training you can become a certified Facilitator and are eligible for a paid position on our programme.

Cost:£30 (or pay what you can). This fee can be requested to be returned at the end of the 8 week volunteer placement.  For those who complete the 8 week training, the cost of travel to the training and schools sessions will be reimbursed upon request.
