We have made a series of eight short videos, each designed to fit into a single lesson, together with a manual for teachers to use in the classroom, based on our Cooperative Games and Conflict Resolution course
As COVID guidelines restrict outside visitors it may be difficult for our facilitators to work with classes in schools this year. Instead, teachers across Scotland will be able to use these films to help children talk about their experience of the pandemic and lockdown, as well as providing a full PeaceBuilders course that can be accessed at any time, and into the future.
About the video series
The videos consist of cooperative games, circle time conversations and other activities. It is a resource teachers can use with class groups to help children develop skills in managing emotions, respect and empathy, and conflict resolution. These interactive videos allow teachers to use the peacebuilding materials flexibly, timetabling the videos whenever suits them best
How to access the videos
See above to view a short video clip to give you an idea of what the video series is like. Alternatively you can view the video on vimeo here: https://vimeo.com/user128722156
The videos can be accessed free of charge, although there is a suggested price for schools to pay for the series.
We are keen to share these films with any school that would find them useful
If you are a teacher who thinks these videos might be useful for you, or you know of a school that might be interested please contact the PeaceBuilders Programme Coordinator, Stephanie Walker. She would be very happy to discuss the programme and the video series with you. Email her at: peacebuilders[at]peaceandjustice.org.uk
