Join us on Sunday 30th June 2019 at the Pavilion Cafe on the Meadows to make, decorate and fly kites (or bring your own)! Soup, crafts and music will also be provided by the Refugee Community Kitchen (RCK). Donations will support Peace and Justice Centre projects and programmes whilst donations to RCK aid their support of destitute refugees in northern France.
Kites Not Drones is a movement inspired by the Afghan Peace Volunteers, an inter-ethnic peace community of young people in Kabul. Afghans fly kites at the Nao Ruz or New Year in spring, but now drones rather than kites fill the sky. This event has been held annually since 2014 and we look forward to seeing you there!
