Introduction to Direct Action Against the Weapons Industry

Following the postponement of the March training, we now have a date!

Please register by emailing Niina and Phil on caatedinburgh@live.com

This workshop will introduce direct action as a strategic tool in our (tactically diverse!) toolkit for social change in Scotland. It is aimed at folk considering taking action on the arms trade and for those who would simple like to know more. Together we will explore: Types of direct action and how and where we might use it; what ‘non-violence’ means; developing positive group processes; knowing the legal situation; making the most of an “action”; engaging media; and how we might support one another to have a good time and be safe when taking action.

This workshop will be interactive and may involve some moving around. It will take place in an accessible venue and lunch will be provided.

Registration will be on a first come, first served basis. Please provide your full name and any affiliation, and let us know of any language, dietary or accessibility needs or if there is any extra support we might be able to offer to enable you to participate. We may also be able to offer support towards travel costs on request.

People with all levels of experience are welcome.

Please feel free to circulate this invitation among your trusted network and allied groups.

Best,

Niina and Kate
