Event is hosted by University of Edinburgh Sustainability.

This event will explore a range of staff & student perspectives on responsible investment at an individual, institutional and national scale

About this Event

Money matters when it comes to the climate crisis – investments play a key role in financing a lower-carbon, healthier, more sustainable and equitable future. In February 2021, the University of Edinburgh divested from fossil fuels, a significant milestone on its journey to be carbon neutral by 2040. By shifting investments out of fossil fuels and into organisations and funds that positively impact society and the environment, the University is playing a part in progressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

What can the individual do to support society’s transition to clean energy, a smarter use of resources and a more inclusive economy? Did you know that everything from who you bank with to how your pension fund is managed plays a role? This event will provide you with the knowledge and tools to place environmental sustainability and social responsibility at the centre of your finances, and will link you to further resources to make positive, lasting changes.
