Scottish Peace Network Armed Forces Day Presence in Stirling

Event Details

Join us in Stirling to say Give Peace a Chance!

Every year, members of the Scottish Peace Network provide an opportunity for a response to the official celebration of Armed Forces Day in Stirling– this year on Saturday, 30 June.

If you are one of the many who long for world peace and global justice, we encourage you to join us at the edge of King’s Park at 12 pm.  Just watch for the large No More Wars banner on the mound at the traffic circle.

Since its founding in 2013, the Scottish Peace Network has maintained its opposition to war, imperialism, and militarism by focusing on what we as a society have done, and can continue to accomplish, though cooperation, collective action, and peaceful means.

We call for schools not bombs, healthcare not warfare, good jobs for all; for scrapping Trident and withdrawing from NATO, as auxilliaries to the US military; and for allowing secondary school students to hear a peace alternative to the false promises delivered by military recruiters.

The Scottish Peace Network welcomes new members: both organisations and individuals.  Through discussions, events, conversations, and actions we can help transform society– from one based on power and weaponry to one that puts people before profit and caring before killing.
