Scottish CND Protest Rally on the 70th anniversary of setting up of NATO from 12 noon -1 pm at Donald Dewar statue in Buchanan Street Glasgow . Thursday April 4 –
Some brief speeches and leafleting will take place as a Scottish contribution to protests taking place all over the world on April 4 .
These protests will be in opposition to NATOs role in driving a new Arms Race by forcing its member countries to substantially increase their defence spending rather than use resources on developing sustainable and socially useful jobs . The Protest Rally will also focus on the fact that NATO is the largest military alliance in the world and possesses a massive stockpile of nuclear weapons within a number of its member countries.
