Luke Hart in conversation with Dani Garavelli

Event Details

Luke Hart, along with his brother Ryan, is a leading voice in the fight for an end to men’s violence against women, following the devastating murder of his mother Claire and sister Charlotte in 2016.

Dani Garavelli’s brave and insightful reporting on issues of violence against women has seen her win awards including this year’s inaugural Nicola Barry Award at the Scottish Press Awards.

Join Engender Equal Media Scotland, with Engender, Scottish Women’s Aid, and Zero Tolerance for this unique opportunity to hear Luke and Dani in conversation as they discuss the power of the media to effect change, and how we can challenge men’s violence against women.

This event will be held at Central Hall in Edinburgh. The venue is wheelchair accessible and we will be using a hearing loop. If there is anything we can do to make it easier for you to attend, please email us at info@engender.org.uk. Children are welcome, although there will be discussion of violence.

Tea, Coffee and cake will be provided (vegan and gf options available)

Tickets

We are charging a small fee for tickets to cover hire costs and to help us better calculate numbers. If you would like to attend but are unable to pay, for any reason, please just email us at info@engender.org.uk or call 0131 558 9596 and we can either make sure you are on the list, or refund you your ticket cost.

Engender members can book for this event now, and booking for non-members open Friday 8th.

Timings

As Luke needs to leave to catch a plane south, we will be beginning promptly at 6pm. We encourage you to arrive from 5:30 to have tea and coffee and find your seats. There will also be time after the formal part of the evening to refill your cups and have a chat.

Of course, we understand that everyone has competing commitments, so if you need to arrive late or leave early, that’s totally fine!
