Intro to Edinburgh World Justice Festival & Invite to Help

Event Details

Open Meeting 7.30 pm Wednesday 22 April
Edinburgh Methodist Church, 25 Nicolson Square, EH8 9BX
with Liz Murray, Head of Campaigns and Policy at Global Justice Now Scotland

Edinburgh World Justice Festival was born the year after the huge Make Poverty History March in Edinburgh ten years ago, and continues to go from strength to strength.  Liz Murray of Global Justice Now (previously the World Development Movement, and a founding organisations of the festival) will talk about the festival’s roots, some of the inspiring events that have been part of it over the years and why it’s needed more than ever today.

The festival raises the profile of world justice issues, helps us understand them and celebrates the movement for a better world.  It will run from 2 to 11 October 2015 and the theme is ‘Changing Our Unequal World’. There are exciting opportunities to help organise this unique festival. In particular we want help with:
•    Website management and social media
•    Events; organising a fundraising gig
•    Fundraising and book-keeping
•    Co-ordinating an artistic/ creative programme
•    Marketing, promotion, design

Interested in helping? then please let us know; come to the meeting
